OPENING KICK
- Stony Brook will look to continue its winning ways after they defeated Stonehill, 37-10, last Saturday at LaValle Stadium.
- Roland Dempster was named CAA Co-Offensive Player of the Week by the league office on Monday morning. Dempster claimed his second CAA Football weekly honor of his career (CAA Rookie of the Week on Nov. 22, 2021) and is the first member of the Seawolves to earn a conference weekly award this season after tallying three touchdowns and 160 rushing yards against Stonehill.
- In their last meeting on Oct. 14, 2023, Fordham defeated Stony Brook 26-7. Casey Case threw for 243 yards (21-for-34) with a passing touchdown, while Dempster led the way with 36 rushing yards. Chayce Chalmers and Anthony Ferrelli each record eight tackles, respectively.
- Stony Brook holds a 10-6 record against the Patriot League, having played against five football member institutions.
- Among Patriot League members, Stony Brook has faced Bucknell (2-0), Colgate (4-1), Lafayette (1-1), Lehigh (1-1) and Fordham (2-3).
- The Seawolves will look to snap a three-game losing streak against the Patriot League on Saturday, having last won at Colgate on Sept. 11, 2021.
THE STREAK IS OVER, SEAWOLVES WIN!
- Stony Brook earned their first victory in 675 days with their 37-10 triumph over Stonehill on Sept. 7 at LaValle Stadium.
- The Seawolves were led by redshirt senior Roland Dempster, who helped the Seawolves score their most points since 2019. Dempster tallied a career-high three touchdowns and matched a career best with 160 yards on 19 carries.
- Freshman Malachi Marshall made his first start for the Seawolves under center and shined, throwing for 161 yards (9-for-16 passing) with a touchdown. Marshall added 10 yards on six carries.
- Rudy Silvera tallied his first interception as a Seawolf and added two pass breakups, while AJ Roberts and Shamoun Duncan-Niusulu paced the team with nine and six tackles, respectively.
- Rodney Faulk wreaked havoc, recording six tackles and a quarterback hit. Jaxon Witherspoon ended the game with his first career interception as time expired. Sebastian Regis, the East Islip product, scooped up a fumble and rumbled 69 yards down the field and into the endzone.
- The special teams unit continued to shine, seeing Enda Kirby knock through a career-best 40-yard field goal in the first quarter. Junior Clayton Taylor punted six times for 287 yards, downing two inside the 20-yard line and booming three that were 50 or more yards.
- The Seawolves snapped a 13-game losing streak and a six-game home losing streak.
- Stony Brook's 27-point victory represented its largest margin of victory since posting a 35-point victory over Fordham at LaValle Stadium on Sept. 21, 2019.
- Stony Brook's 37 points scored were its most since tallying 45 against Fordham on Sept. 21, 2019.
- The Seawolves rushed for 260 yards, their most since totaling 321 yards against Albany on Nov. 20, 2021.

ABOUT THE RAMS
• Fordham is currently 0-2 to start the 2024 season after suffering an opening-night defeat to Bowling Green and falling to CCSU this past weekend.
• The Rams are led by head coach Joe Conlin, who enters his seventh year at the helm of the program after joining Fordham from Yale University. Conlin, a three-year starter at defensive tackle at the University of Pittsburgh, has also made coaching stops at Harvard, New Hampshire and West Virginia Tech.
• CJ Montes leads the Rams with 300 passing yards this season (30-for-57) with a passing touchdown and QBR of 102.63.
• In the backfield, Julius Loughridge has been a force, averaging 119.5 yards per game on the ground in the first two games. He currently ranks fourth in FCS with 163.0 all purpose yards per game and seventh in rushing yards per game. Garrett Cody is pacing the team with 12 receptions for 96 yards.
• On the defensive side, Jaylen Dawson leads the team with 13 tackles and Nahil Perkins owns two interceptions.
• Fordham won last year's meeting, 26-7, on October 14 at LaValle Stadium. Loughridge rushed for 154 yards on 24 carries with two scores and Montes completed 20 of 33 passes for 171 yards in the victory.
• Senior linebacker James Conway, senior defensive lineman Matt Jaworski and Montes were named 2024 Stats Perform FCS Preseason All-America Team.
• The Rams currently have two former players in the NFL, Chase Edmonds with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Nick Zakelj with the San Francisco 49ers.
