BOSTON, MASS.- The Stony Brook women's track and field competed at the Riverhawk Invitational, hosted by UMass Lowell on Saturday. The day's top performance came in the 5000m race, as Amelie Guzman outpaced 35 other runners to a first-place finish.

HIGHLIGHTS
  • Guzman continued her strong season with a victory in the 5000m. Her 17:07.22 clocking was a new personal best.
  • Shaylen Goslar took third in the 1000m, finishing in 2:53.8 a new personal best time.
  • Miranda Gatto placed sixth in the 5000m (17:53.97).
QUOTES FROM THE SEAWOLVES
"The Riverhawk Invitational, hosted by UMass Lowell, allowed both teams to compete at the world-class New Balance indoor facility that hosted the NCAA Championships last year," head coach Andy Ronan said. "On the second day, the women's performances were more encouraging. Amelie produced a great run in the 5000m to narrowly squeak out the win. Shaylen had her best run of the season so far. Other strong runs came from Danielle and Grace in the 3000m."

UP NEXT
With its busy January schedule now coming to a close, Stony Brook will return to the track on Feb. 7 for the Fastrack National Invite at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex in Staten Island.
