BALTIMORE, Md. – The Stony Brook women's lacrosse team gained national recognition again today, as the Seawolves were slated No. 14 in the 2025 ILWomen/ KANE Division I Preseason Media Poll, as announced by the organization on Wednesday afternoon.
The Seawolves have taken top marks amongst the coaches and the media in the preseason, as USA Lacrosse Magazine also announced Stony Brook as No. 14 on Jan. 10.
This season, the Seawolves will battle five different programs in the current top 25 rankings – Johns Hopkins (No. 11), Denver (No. 15), Princeton (No. 17), Colorado (No. 23), and Drexel (No. 24).
Stony Brook is coming off an 18-3 finish in 2024, where the squad reached the second round of the NCAA Championship for the 11th consecutive season after earning back-to-back CAA titles.
The Seawolves' season begins in two weeks on Feb. 12 on the road at Bryant.
