DANBURY, Conn. — Stony Brook women's lacrosse head coach
Joe Spallina was named the ECAC Coach of the Year, while
Isabella Caporuscio and
Hailey Huebner earned All-ECAC distinction.
Spallina guided Stony Brook to a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament and the program's fifth-ever NCAA Quarterfinal appearance. The Seawolves finished the regular season at No. 4 in the NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse RPI, cruising to a fourth-consecutive CAA Championship and 13th straight NCAA Tournament appearance. After taking care of Stonehill, Stony Brook defeated Boston College to end the Eagles' streak of eight straight NCAA Final Four appearances.
Caporuscio led the Seawolves' offense with 87 points and 68 goals. Additionally, she finished second on Stony Brook in draw controls (63), ground balls (56), and caused turnovers (50). This season, she was a Tewaaraton Award nominee, USA Lacrosse All-American, IWLCA All-Region, CAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player, CAA Midfielder of the Year and All-CAA First Team honoree.
Huebner, the unanimous CAA Defensive Player of the Year, joined Caporuscio as an All-ECAC selection. Huebner tied the program single-season record with 74 caused turnovers in 2026, ranking top-three in the nation in caused turnovers per game. Huebner led the Seawolves with 58 ground ball pickups, good for a top-five mark in the NCAA.
