Men's Cross Country Takes Third At 2025 CAA Championships; Gartner, Fogarty, And Hawkes Earn All-CAA Honors

LAKEWOOD, N.J. — Stony Brook men's cross country competed at the 2025 CAA Cross Country Championships on Friday morning. The Seawolves placed third out of 1 teams, scoring 67 points. Henry Gartner, Peter Fogarty, and Michael Hawkes all produced strong runs to garner All-CAA honors.

Three Stony Brook runners placed inside the top-15, earning an All-CAA distinction in the process. Amongst the three, Gartner recorded the best placement of the day for the Seawolves, finishing seventh with a new PR time of 23:49.10 in the 8K event. Just behind him in eighth was Fogarty, who also set a PR with a 23:55.60 clocking. Hawkes finished 12th in 24:10.10, setting a new PR in the 8K.

Just missing out on All-CAA honors was Ethan Green, who posted a solid run to finish 17th on the day. Stony Brook had five more runners finish inside the top-35: Collin Gilstrap (23rd), Gavin Catherwood (27th), Ryan Hesler (29th), Luca Maneri (30th), and Gavin DeVito (33rd).

Chris Tardugno (45th) and Cain Lawler (46th) rounded the Seawolf runners at the 2025 CAA Championships.

Stony Brook will run again in two weeks for the 2025 NCAA Northeast Regionals. This year's Reginoals will emanate from Hopkinton, New Hampshire, and will take place on Friday, November 14.
