11/20/2025 9:35:00 PM

Box Score STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The Seawolves moved to 4-0 at Stony Brook Arena this year after defeating Brown 80-70 on Thursday.

How It Happened

  • In a light scoring start to the game, Stony Brook came out with a 4-0 lead through the opening three minutes off a layup from Collin O'Connor and two from the line for Rob Brown III.
  • It remained close through the first half of the set, as the Bears managed to tie things up at 11-11 with just under 13 to play. Both teams would trade several leads over the next few minutes as Erik Pratt single-handedly accounted for all of Stony Brook's offense to the tune of 12 straight points in three minutes to make it 23-20 Seawolves with nine and a half to play.
  • Following Pratt's run of dominance, Tomas Valentiny and Andrej Shoshkikj each picked up buckets, before Pratt added another from the line to make it a 10-0 run and give Stony Brook a 28-20 lead with just under seven minutes remaining.
  • After the Bears finally ended the Seawolves' run, Stony Brook came right back and scored seven unanswered to extend the lead to 33-22. Following the end of that run, a pair of three-pointers from Brown and Pratt helped give Stony Brook yet another 10-0 run to blow the game wide open at 43-24 with less then four minutes to play. Ultimately, the Seawolves ended the half up 49-32.
  • The Bears opened the second half with a 6-0 run to pull back within 11. Despite three points from Quin Gorman and a triple from Goods regrew the lead to 15, Brown continued to chip away at the lead, cutting it down to 55-45 with just over 12 minutes remaining.
  • Thanks to buckets from Pratt, Valentiny, and O'Connor, Stony Brook prevented the Bears from getting the lead down into single digits. Later, with the clock winding down to the seven minute mark, Goods drained a three to make it a 15-point game at 68-53.
  • Despite one last push from the Bears in the final five minutes, the Seawolves' lead held firm as they held on for the 80-70 win.
