STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The CAA Football league has announced game times for all conference matchups during the 2025 season, along with home non-conference contests.
Stony Brook's conference schedule kicks off with the Seawolves hosting defending champion Rhode Island at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 6. The team returns to conference action in October, opening the month with the "Golden Apple" game at UAlbany on Saturday, October 4, at 3:30 p.m. The Seawolves play two more CAA games that month, traveling to West Long Branch to battle Monmouth at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 16, before concluding October with a trip to Baltimore to face Towson on Saturday, October 25, at 3:30 p.m.
The Seawolves open November with a road matchup at Maine on Saturday, November 1, at 1:00 p.m. Stony Brook returns to LaValle Stadium on Saturday, November 8, to host North Carolina A&T at 1:00 p.m. before heading to Philadelphia to take on Villanova on Saturday, November 15, at 1:00 p.m. The regular season finale is set for Saturday, November 22, as Stony Brook hosts Bryant at noon inside LaValle Stadium.
The conference schedule includes four home games and four road contests for each team. Each team is paired with three permanent partners they play annually, while the remaining five slots rotate among the other 10 league members. This system ensures every team plays each non-partner opponent at least once over a four-year span. To minimize costs, air travel was limited, with most teams having no more than one flight during conference play.
Across the CAA, the non-conference schedule features 16 games against FBS opponents, including three matchups with Big Ten programs (Iowa, Maryland, Penn State) and three against ACC teams (Duke, NC State, Virginia). The Seawolves' non-conference slate includes games against San Diego State, Fordham, Lindenwood, and Merrimack.
Four CAA Football teams earned FCS playoff berths in 2024, marking the third straight year and the 14th time overall that at least four teams qualified. The conference has had at least one team reach the semifinals in 10 of the last 12 seasons and has sent a team to the national championship game 11 times since 2003.
