- Bonacci and Ray O'Brien netted man-up goals later in the quarter, making the Seawolves 4-for-4 on extra-man opportunities in the second quarter alone.
- Drexel used a late push to trim its deficit to one goal, but McCoy netted the final goal of the half to give Stony Brook an 8-6 lead heading into the half.
- The Dragons scored five of the first seven goals of the second half, grabbing their first lead since the closing moments of the first quarter. Stony Brook trailed for less than 90 seconds courtesy of a buzzer-beating goal by Bonacci.
- With things all even heading into the final 15 minutes of action, Drexel gained the advantage first by netting a pair of goals.
- After being held scoreless for the first six-plus minutes of the final frame, Stony Brook ripped off three straight to turn a two-goal deficit into a 14-13 lead with 6:29 to play.
