STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Avery Hines of the Stony Brook women's lacrosse team was named CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Hines earned her fifth CAA weekly honor after continuing to anchor the Seawolves' defense, tallying five caused turnovers and five ground balls in a CAA victory over Monmouth. She helped the Stony Brook defense hold the Hawks to just six goals.
 
Hines leads the CAA in ground balls per game (2.83) and caused turnovers per game (3.42), while ranking third in the nation.
 
Hines has registered 41 total caused turnovers this season, while notching 109 during her four-year career with the Seawolves.
 
After a three-game homestand, Hines and the Seawolves start a three-game road trip at ranked-Princeton on Wednesday afternoon.
