RICHMOND, Va. — Five Stony Brook softball student-athletes were selected to All-CAA teams, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Alyssa Costello and Kyra McFarland were selected to the All-CAA First Team, Emily Reinstein and Emma Scheitinger were voted to the All-CAA Second Team and Nicole Allen earned a spot on the CAA All-Rookie squad.

Costello played in and started all 48 regular season games, hitting .430 and posting team-high marks in on-base percentage (.503) and slugging percentage (.685). Costello ranked second in the CAA with 64 hits and her on-base percentage, slugging percentage and 14 doubles ranked third in the league. She tallied multiple hits in 21 games and ended the regular season riding a 23-game hitting streak and by reaching safely in 24 consecutive contests.

McFarland led the CAA with a .444 batting average, 75 hits and eight triples, earning All-CAA First Team distinction for the second straight season. She was a three-time CAA Player of the Week selection during the season, putting together a team-best 24 multi-hit games. McFarland reached base safely in all but four games this season and registered a hit in 42 of Stony Brook's 48 contests. 

Reinstein posted career-best marks in nearly every offensive statistic as a senior, slashing .333/.364/.540 across 47 games. She finished top-five on the team in batting average, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, hits, runs scored, doubles, home runs, RBI and total bases. Reinstein put together nine multi-hit efforts and six multi-RBI performances, including a career-best six RBI at Drexel. Defensively, Reinstein posted a .994 fielding percentage behind the plate and threw out 13 of 31 base stealers, the second-most in the CAA, and did not allow a passed ball during the regular season.

Scheitinger hit .419 during conference play, earning a spot on the All-CAA Second Team. She was one of 20 CAA players to post an OPS better than 1.000, tallying eight extra-base hits during league play, including three home runs. She registered multiple hits in 12 contests and scored a run in 18 contests.

Allen secured a spot on the CAA All-Rookie Team, slashing .390/.453/.571 across 77 at-bats. Allen played in 20 of Stony Brook's 27 conference games, hitting .413 against league foes. She registered eight extra-base hits and drove in 19 runs during league play. In total, Allen had eight multi-hit games and drove in multiple runs in six contests. She was a two-time CAA Rookie of the Week honoree.

Stony Brook enters the 2025 CAA Championship as the No. 5 seed and is set to face the host, fourth-seeded Campbell, on Wednesday, May 7 to begin postseason play.
