STONY BROOK, N.Y. – Stony Brook Athletics is rolling out 'For the Island: Seawolves Nation Week' from September 1-6, a series of events designed to bring Seawolves fans and the Long Island community together ahead of the 2025 football home opener. The week leads into Saturday night's matchup when Stony Brook hosts Rhode Island at 6 pm at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium. The game carries the theme "For the Island," highlighting the people, places and pride that make Long Island special.
 

For the Island: Seawolves Nation Week Highlights:

Fan Appreciation – Monday, September 1st
A day dedicated to Seawolves fans, with chances to win prizes and exclusive giveaways as a thank-you for the constant support.

Taking It Back Tuesday – Tuesday, September 2nd
A look back at great moments in Seawolves Football history, shared across Stony Brook's social media channels.

Seawolf Surprise – Wednesday, September 3rd
Stony Brook Athletics will be dropping off prizes around Long Island with clues on the Seawolves social media pages. Fans following along can look for clues on where to find these prizes.

Seawolves in the Community – Thursday, September 4th
Stony Brook student-athletes will visit local elementary schools during morning drop-off to welcome students back for the new school year.

Red Friday – Friday, September 5th
Fans everywhere are encouraged to wear red and share their Seawolves spirit on social media by tagging @SBAthletics and @StonyBrookFB as part of Red Friday.

Beat Rhode Island – Saturday, September 6th
Island Week wraps up under the lights at LaValle Stadium, as the Seawolves face Rhode Island in the home opener at 6 pm
