HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. — The Stony Brook tennis team continued its stellar start to the fall season on Friday and Saturday, with a plethora of impressive performances at the Hofstra Invitational tournament. As a team, the Seawolves won a tournament-best 20 matches over the course of two days of play.

Stony Brook kicked things off with a bang on Friday against tournament host Hofstra, winning 10 of the 11 total matches against the Pride across singles and doubles competition, including a clean sweep of all seven singles matches.

The Seawolves wrapped up day one with doubles play against St John's and Fordham, as Stony Brook picked up three additional match wins.

On the second day, Stony Brook finished the tournament on a high note, securing seven victories in singles matches against Fordham and St. John's.

The Seawolves achieved an impressive total of 20 wins in the tournament, thanks to strong contributions from various players across the roster. Elena Lobo-Corral and Paisha Douglas each won five matches, including going a perfect 3-0 in singles play. Mia Palladino recorded 4 total matches, also winning all three of her singles matches. 

Stony Brook had two members go undefeated across the weekend as Laura Ozola (4-0) and Cornelia Bruu-Syversen (3-0) each did not drop a match across singles and doubles competition.
