BOSTON, Mass. - The Seawolves got back in the win column on Friday as they began their time in Boston with a come from behind 3-1 (23-25, 25-16, 26-24, 26-24) win over Northeastern.

How It Happened

SET 1 | Initially trailing 5-2 to open the day, the Seawolves would soon take their first lead of the match on a 6-0 run that saw a combined five kills from Sanders and Osibodu. The Huskies came right back, though, going on a pair of extended runs of their own to pull ahead 19-13. Multiple Northeastern attack errors combined with two kills from Lei Lasike would allow Stony Brook to cut the lead down to 22-21, but the effort fell just short in the end.

SET 2 | The errors would continued to mount for the Huskies as they committed eight more, plus a bad set, to give the Seawolves a 15-14 lead halfway through. Out of the timeout, Sanders would notch Stony Brook's third ace of the frame, before Taryn Su served up three consecutive aces as part of an 8-0 run to end the set.

SET 3 | Sanders picked up four kills early on to keep it close the third as Stony Brook trailed 13-10. Momentum would soon take a major turn in the Seawolves' favor, however, as they fired off eight unanswered points, featuring three blocks from Osibodu, to take a five-point lead. After Northeastern finally ended the run, Fuertez and Rayanne Wheat put the team into double-digit aces on the day. Though the Huskies managed to come back and tie it 24-24, Stony Brook was able to hold on to take a 2-1 lead on the day.

SET 4 | Ayanna Pierre Louis continued to head up the defense with another three blocks at the start of the set to quickly put Stony Brook in front 10-6. Mercedes Motton would score two more kills while Carey-Jean Block and Pierre Louis would pick up the team's 13th and 14th service aces of the day to maintain the four-point lead at 20-16.
