RICHMOND, Va. - For the second time in his career and first time this season, Michael Mannino has been named the CAA Special Teams Player of the Week as announced by the conference office this morning.

The native of Long Island joins DaMario Crawford, Khalid Bueno, Quinn Boyd, and Seth Sweitzer as players who have earned weekly awards by the CAA this season.

Mannino booted a pair of field goals and was 3-for-3 on extra points as Stony Brook earned a 27-17 road win at Bryant. The sophomore connected on a 25-yard field goal in the first quarter before hitting a 43-yarder with 1:50 remaining that sealed the victory.

This year, Mannino is a perfect 7-for-7 on his field goal attempts, also 26-for-26 on extra point attempts, and averaging 60.4 yards per attempt on 34 kickoffs this season.  For his career, the sophomore holds the longest made field goals in program history with a 49-yard field goal against Fordham on Sept. 13 and again versus Merrimack on Sept. 27 of last season.

The Seawolves are back in action on Saturday as they host Sacred Heart for a Halloween matchup at LaValle stadium beginning at noon on FloCollege. This marks the 17th meeting between these two programs, the first since Sacred Heart joined the CAA and first since 2017. Stony Brook owns an 11-5 record all-time against the Pioneers.
