OPENING KICK
- This marks the 12th meeting between these two programs with Stony Brook looking to win its third straight meeting against Towson.
- The last meeting between the two teams came on Oct. 25, 2025, as the Seawolves earned their second consecutive Homecoming victory by defeating the Towson Tigers, 27-19, at LaValle Stadium. Quinn Boyd made his first career start and threw for 176 yards with a touchdown in the win.
- In their last time out, the Stony Brook football team traveled to the Bronx and took down Fordham, 31-16, at Moglia Stadium at Jack Coffey Field. The offense was led by CJ Hester, who tallied three touchdowns and 135 yards on the ground over 28 carries. Quinn Boyd had a 157.1 passer rating, completing 20-of-26 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown.
- DaMario Crawford recorded his first interception of the season, while Khalid Bueno was all over the stat sheet with three sacks and five tackles to pace the defense. Anthony Ferrelli posted a team-high 11 tackles, while Geno Calgaro, Lance Byndon and Tyson Roberts each recorded a tackle for loss in the victory.
- After leading the Seawolves to a 31-16 victory over Fordham, redshirt freshman Khalid Bueno was named the CAA Co-Rookie of the Week. The Philadelphia native recorded five tackles, 3.0 sacks and two quarterback hurries. Two of Bueno's three sacks came in the fourth quarter as Stony Brook held the Rams to just three second-half points.
- This season, Bueno leads the FCS with 7.5 sacks and 11.5 tackles for loss. He has recorded at least 2.0 TFLs in four games this season.
- Stony Brook leads the CAA in total offense per game (34.8), rushing touchdowns (17), kickoff returns (28.4) and sacks (17). The Seawolves are also one of two CAA teams, along with Maine, to not miss a field goal this season.
- The Seawolves and Tigers have met in 11 of the past 12 seasons dating back to their first meeting on Sept. 28, 2013, when the Tigers took down Stony Brook, 35-21, at LaValle Stadium.
- Anthony Ferrelli was selected as a semifinalist for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy. The Campbell Trophy recognizes an individual as the absolute best scholar-athlete in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.

- In their last time out, the Tigers fell to Monmouth, 41-40, in West Long Branch. Andrew Indorf went 21-for-35 with four touchdowns, matching a career high, and one interception.

- LB Anthony Ferrelli, QB Quinn Boyd, WR Seth Sweitzer, DL Abraham Clinkscales and DL Sebastian Regis were named Stony Brook's captains for the 2026 season. Ferrelli is the only two-time captain among the group.

BUENO EARNS CAA CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
- After leading the Seawolves to a 31-16 victory over Fordham on Saturday afternoon, redshirt freshman Khalid Bueno has been named the CAA Co-Rookie of the Week.
- Bueno earned his first career weekly honor from the CAA and joins Seth Sweitzer and Quinn Boyd as Seawolves who have already earned weekly awards this season.

- Stony Brook has won their last two games over Towson dating back to 2024. Before that, the Tigers had taken down the Seawolves four straight meetings from 2018- 2022.
- The Seawolves own a 3-2 all-time record against Towson on the road with their last victory on the road coming in 2024 where Tyler Knoop tossed six touchdowns to take down the Tigers 52-24.
- Towson took down Stony Brook 35-21 in their first-ever meeting on Sept. 28, 2013.
- In their last meeting, Stony Brook defeated Towson 27-19 at LaValle Stadium on Oct. 25 on their Homecoming celebration. Quinn Boyd made his first career start and had 176 yards in the air with a passing touchdown while Roland Dempster ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns on 41 carries.
OUTLOOK FOR TOWSON
- Towson enters its fourth season under head coach Pete Shinnick in 2025. Under coach Shinnick, Towson has earned three victories over then-top-15 teams and has finished at least .500 in CAA play in each of his first three years.
- The Tigers have a record of 0-6 (0-2 CAA) this season.
- In their last time out, the Tigers were taken down by Monmouth 41-40 on the road. Andrew Indorf went 21-for-35 with four touchdowns, matching a career-high, and one interception. Defensively, TJ Sands racked up 18 tackles to lead all players while Seth Chestnut finished with nine tackles. Myles Johnson notched an interception, adding five tackles.
- Towson currently has the fifth rated scoring offense and 13th ranked scoring defense in the CAA.
- Their passing yard defense is ranked first in the conference and ranks first in offensive efficiency.
- QB Indorf is second in the CAA with 1,542 passing yards and leads the conference with 15 passing touchdowns this season.
- Three players were recognized in the CAA Preseason Honors, led by KJ Brooks being CAA Preseason AllConference while each Andrew Indorf and Daniel Anderla being CAA Preseason All-Conference Honorable Mention. All three are honored with preseason league awards for the first time.
- Towson has brought in 51 new players for 2026, including 26 true freshmen and 25 transfers. They add to the 53 returners for a 104-man roster.
