STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Stony Brook sophomore
Paisha Douglas was named the CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced Thursday afternoon.
Douglas becomes the second Seawolf to receive a weekly conference honor this season, joining
Laura Ozola, who earned CAA Player of the Week recognition last week following her performances against Monmouth and Army.
A native of Las Vegas, Douglas went 2–0 at the No. 3 singles position in Stony Brook's matches against NJIT and UConn. She opened the week with a comeback 3–6, 7–6, 6–2 victory over NJIT's Irene Cocero before posting a commanding 6–1, 6–0 win against UConn's Victoria Matos. Douglas is currently riding a three-match winning streak and earned the first CAA weekly honor of her career.
The Stony Brook tennis team returns to action Friday night, traveling across Long Island to face LIU at 6 p.m.
