STONY BROOK, N.Y. — Stony Brook junior Elena Lobo-Corral was named the CAA Women's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Lobo-Corral becomes the third Seawolf to receive a weekly conference honor this season, joining Laura Ozola and Paisha Douglas. This also marks her third CAA weekly honor after earning three last season.

The junior posted a pair of dominant wins at No. 1 singles in Stony Brook's conference victories over Hampton (5-2) and Towson (4-3). The sophomore beat Hampton's Tanya Midzi, 6-1, 6-0, and followed with a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Towson's Kiersten Tambe. Lobo-Corral has won five straight conference matches, four at the No. 1 slot and one at No. 2.

The Stony Brook tennis team returns to action Sunday morning for the battle of Long Island against Hofstra in Hempstead.
