Seawolves Drop Regular Season Finale To Campbell

BUIES CREEK, N.C.  Stony Brook women's basketball wrapped up its regular season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Campbell 55-41 on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Stony Brook controlled the game early on, leading 10-2 with 5:05 left in the first quarter. Campbell responded with a 10-2 run of its own to tie it at 12-12 late in the opening quarter. The Seawolves finished the quarter with the last four points to go into the second quarter up 16-12.

Solid paint presence on both ends allowed the Camles to regain control in the second quarter, as they led 20-17 following an 8-2 run to begin the quarter. Both teams' defenses made offense hard to come by through the remainder of the first half, with Campbell leading 22-20 at the break.

The slow pace of play dictated by defense continued into the second half, with the game tied 27-27 at the 4:14 mark. Campbell made its final three shots of the third quarter to go ahead 34-31.

Stony Brook opened the fourth quarter with the first four points scored to take a one-point 35-34 lead. The Camels answered with the next eight points to go in front 42-35 with 6:14 left to play. Campbell would close out the game with a 13-6 run to 55-41.
