PUERTO RICO - Stony Brook women's basketball alumna Nairimar Vargas-Reyes has signed with Pollitas de Isabela in the Puerto Rican BSNF.

Last season, Vargas-Reyes appeared in 24 games for Cangrejeras de Santurce, averaging 19.2 minutes per game. She averaged 7.1 points per game while shooting 47.5% from the field, along with 4.0 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.

Along with Santurce, Vargas-Reyes has been a member of the Puerto Rican national program for multiple years. She played for the U19 National Team in 2017 and has been a member of the Puerto Rican Senior National Team since 2022. She represented Puerto Rico (2025) at the FIBA Women's World Cup in Sydney, Australia, helping the team win a silver medal while averaging more than 4.0 points per game.

In 2024, Vargas-Reyes was voted the Latinbasket.com All-Puerto Rican BSNF Sixth Player of the Year.
