• Rhode Island enters Saturday ranked No. 8 in the Stats Perform FCS Top 25 and No. 13 in the AFCA FCS Coaches Poll. 
• LB Anthony Ferrelli QB Quinn Boyd WR Seth Sweitzer DL Abraham Clinkscales and DL Sebastian Regis were named Stony Brook's captains for the 2026 season. Ferrelli is the only two-time captain among the group. 
• Ferrelli was named to the 2026 Buck Buchanan Award Preseason Watch List. He was also named a Preseason All-American by Stats Perform and Phil Steele.

• CJ Hester had 85 yards on the ground on nine carries, while Quinn Boyd was 22-for-35 with 147 yards through the air and two interceptions. 
• Michael Mannino recorded his second field goal of the season, connecting on a season-long 45-yard kick. Patrick Cleary recorded six punts for 227 yards, averaging 37.8 yards per 
• The Seawolves had 11.0 tackles for loss compared to five by Ball State. Stony Brook now has 32.0 tackles for loss this season, which leads the CAA.
• Stony Brook recorded just three penalties for 26 yards this afternoon, while Ball State committed 11 for 99 yards.
• The Ball State matchup continues Stony Brook's streak of facing an FBS opponent in every full season since 2010.
• This was the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
