Entering his first season with Stony Brook as an Assistant Coach, Vujovich, a native of Sacramento, California, comes to the Island after spending the previous nine months as an Advanced Scouting Associate for the Detroit Tigers. With the Tigers, he was in charge of cutting and editing video, running and looking over scouting reports, and communicating applicable findings to front office personnel, coaches, and players.
Before the Tigers, Vujovich spent time with Optimum Athletes as a Hitting Development intern. He provided individual hitting programs and feedback to 70 clients based on their metrics, ranging from youth athletes to professional players using hitting feedback technology such as Blast Motion, K-Vest, and Hittrack.
The former outfielder began his playing career at the University of Oregon, following his high school career at Granite Bay. Vujovich then transferred to the University of Oklahoma for his sophomore and junior seasons before transferring to the University of San Francisco for his final two collegiate seasons.
As a sophomore with the Sooners in 2019, Vujovich played in 44 games with 37 starts in the outfield and as designated hitter. During the season, he hit .246 with 23 runs scored, seven doubles, one triple, one home run, 15 RBIs, 39 walks, three steals and a .444 on-base percentage. Before the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, Vujovich had five hits, scored seven runs, and drove in three runs in his 12 games played.
After his time at OU, Vujovich played his 2021 and 2022 season with San Francisco. He made an instant impact for the Dons in his first season, tallying eight home runs, fifth-most in the conference. He also led the conference with 36 walks and tallied 28 RBI. He didn't skip a beat in his final season with the Dons, again leading the conference with 44 walks and finishing the year with five home runs and 27 RBI in his 154 at-bats over 55 games.
Vujovich graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2020 with a degree in Human Relations and earned his M.A. in Sport Management from the University of San Francisco in 2022.
