Kyle Lombardo

Kyle Lombardo enters his first season at Stony Brook University.  Lombardo joins the Seawolves after spending the 2018 season at Adelphi University where he worked with position players. Under his guidance, two players were Northeast-10 All-Conference selections, as well as two All-Rookie team selections. As a team, Adelphi led the country in double plays per game (1.33/game).

Coach Lombardo spent the 2016 and 2017 season as an assistant at Suffolk Community College, highlighted by a 2016 JUCO World Series appearance.  While on the staff he helped over 30 players move on to 4-year programs.

Lombardo has also gained coaching experience in the travel ball ranks with the Hitter’s Club Baseball in Farmingdale, NY. He has served as a private instructor and coached players from the 14U to the 17U levels, helping over 50 players move onto the college ranks.

A local product of Ward Melville HS, Lombardo was an infielder at St. John’s University.  A versatile player, Lombardo made starts at all four infielder positions during his career.  He was a member of the 2012 team that made to the NCAA Super Regional losing to eventual National Champion Arizona.  Lombardo earned a BS in Sports Management with a minor in Business Administration and an MS in Sports Management.
