Biography

2023 (Freshman): Made an appearance in seven games for Stony Brook out of the pen… Tallied a save in his collegiate debut on March 8 vs LIU, which was the final out to secure Coach Matt Senk’s 900th win…  Picked up his first career win along with a career-high in strikeouts (6) at LIU on March 21… Pitched a perfect inning vs Manhattan on April 4… Struck out two batters against Army on April 11. 

AT SCHALMONT HIGH SCHOOL: Was a four year varsity player for the Saber baseball team… Holds the school record for career strikeouts (238)… Earned Section 2 Colonial Council First Team Allstar Selection 2019, 2021, and 2022… Schalmont High School Pitcher of the Year 2019… Times Union Section 2 First Team Allstar Selection in 2021 and 2022… Schalmont High School MVP 2021and 2022… MVP Pitcher in Perfect Game New England Select Championship 2021… Received the Bruce Bouck Memorial Award for Most Valuable Baseball Player in 2022… As a senior, Hobb went 6-2 with a 1.00 ERA and finished with 104 strikeouts on the season… Hit .452 his senior season, ending his high school career with a .431 batting average.

PERSONAL: Son of Alisa and Michael Hobb... Attended the same high school as former Seawolf alum Chris Hamilton.
