PRIOR TO STONY BROOK
He comes to Stony Brook after having spent the 2018 season as the cornerbacks coach for the CAA Football champion Maine Black Bears. During last season at Maine, the Black Bears ranked first the CAA in total defense while they placed sixth nationally in interceptions.

Weaver spent the 2017 season on staff with the Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football League (IFL). While with the Blizzard, Weaver spent parts of his one-year in Green Bay mentoring the defensive backs. Under his guidance, the Blizzard finished the season with the top-ranked pass defense in the IFL.

Prior to his time in Green Bay, Weaver spent a year coaching the wide receivers at Pace University following a three-year stint at Rhode Island, also of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).

During his time in Rhode Island, Weaver mentored the cornerbacks in 2016 and two years of coaching the running back unit. In 2015, Weaver mentored sophomore Harold Cooper to CAA all-conference honors as both a running back and kick returner. Cooper finished the season ranked 10th in the nation with 157.9 all-purpose yards per game.

One of Weaver's greatest professional development experiences came in the summer of 2016 when he spent time as an intern with the Pittsburgh Steelers, assisting during the organization's training camp and preseason as part of the National Football League's (NFL) Bill Walsh Minority Coaching Fellowship.

Before joining the staff in Rhode Island, Weaver coached the defensive backs and kick returners at Rochester Community and Technical College, helping guide the team to a 10-2 mark and the Minnesota College Athletic Conference State Championship.
