Jimmy DiPietro

Jimmy DiPietro enters his first season as a member of the Stony Brook football staff as the Coordinator of Football Operations.

DiPietro is no stranger to Stony Brook football though. He was an All-American running back for Stony Brook in the early 1970s for the then-Patriots club team. DiPietro earned All-America status in 1974 after he ranked fourth in the nation for small colleges  and averaged over 100 yards per game.

After DiPietro graduated summa cum laude from Stony Brook in 1976 he went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Hofstra Law School in 1979. He immediatly began practicing law and served as the Assistant District Attorney for Nassau County where he litigated to verdict over 30 criminal trials for seven years. DiPietro was Nassau County's chief trial attorney for all major narcotics prosecutions from 1983 to 1986 before leaving the county for private practice.

In 1986 DiPietro began the Law Offices of James J. DiPietro in Brooklyn where he practiced all aspects of complex state and federal criminal litigation.

DiPietro, who is not practicing while a member of the Stony Brook staff, is a 1972 graduate of Lafayette High School in Brooklyn and was a member of the 1970 undefeated New York City champion football team. In 1971 he was the recepient of his high school's Football Scholar/Athlete award.
