He comes to Stony Brook after spending the 2014 season at his second stint as an assistant coach at Wagner. Edwards also coached the Seahawks from 2009 to 2011 and in between he served two seasons on the staff at Bowling Green.

The 2007 graduate of South Florida, Edwards collected 73 receptions for 928 yards and three touchdowns during his four year career and was a two-time BIG EAST Academic All-Star team member. He then received his master's degree from Wagner in 2011.
