Patrick Hatch

Patrick Hatch serves as the Assistant Athletic Director of Development and Alumni Engagement at Stony Brook University, where he is tasked with helping lead fundraising efforts for Stony Brook Athletics, including overseeing the annual fund, team-specific fundraising initiatives as well as a focus on stewarding and cultivating major gift donors and helping advance capital projects.

He has spent his career in higher education, serving the needs of student-athletes and coaches, with a majority of that time on the football sidelines as a coach and administrator. He joined the world of development in 2023 and with a background rooted in coaching and athletic administration, he has a unique understanding of the intersection between fundraising and college athletics.

Hatch’s role as a fundraiser for athletics marks the third phase of his time at Stony Brook. The first time around he spent four seasons as an assistant football coach (2009-2012) as a part of four consecutive conference championships while mentoring All-Americans and future Stony Brook Hall of Fame members Brock Jackolski ‘11 and Miguel Maysonet ‘12.

Hatch left Long Island for a two-year stint as an assistant football coach at Yale University in his home state of Connecticut, before returning to Stony Brook in 2015 as the Assistant Athletic Director for Football. In this role, he oversaw the program's external operations and directed player personnel where his efforts played a part securing multiple top-20 FCS recruiting classes. As the program’s pro liaison, he helped develop a strong pipeline of Seawolves who advanced to the NFL and other professional leagues, highlighted by a nation leading 13 Seawolves’ earning NFL training or rookie camp invitations over the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

Hatch is originally from Meriden, CT and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Union College (NY) in 2006. A three-time all-conference selection and four year starter, Hatch’s undergraduate career at Union culminated with an undefeated regular season (10-0), a run to the quarterfinals of the DIII playoffs and a final national ranking of 10th in the DIII coaches poll. He received his Masters Degree in Liberal Studies from the School of Professional Development at Stony Brook University in 2010.

In total, Patrick has been part of the Stony Brook community for 14 years. He lives in Sayville, New York with his wife Lindsay ‘12, and their sons Danny and Tate.
