HONORS & ACCOMPLISHMENTS AT STONY BROOK
• Elevated to Seawolves defensive coordinator in January 2020. 
• Became Stony Brook’s defensive live coach in the summer of 2014.
• Became the Defense Run Game Coordinator prior to the 2019 season.
• Helped guided the Seawolves’ defensive that ranked third in the FCS in total defense in 2017.
• The Stony Brook defense ranked first in the FCS with six defensive touchdowns in 2018.
• Helped the Seawolves to back-to-back FCS Playoff appearances in 2017 and 2018.

PLAYING CAREER
Noel was a four-year letterwinner for the Butler Bulldogs, graduating with a school-record 44 games played, including 29 straight starts along the offensive line. He earned All-Pioneer League selection as a senior and was a two-time Academic All-Conference selection.
 
AT STONY BROOK
Noel joined the Seawolves’ staff in the summer of 2014 as the defensive line coach. He spent the 2019 season as the defensive run game coordinator and was promoted to the defensve coordinator prior to the 2020 season.
 
During his first season at Stony Brook, Noel guided Victor Ochi to All-America status and All-CAA Football honors while Ochi became the Seawolves' all-time leader in both sacks and tackles-for-loss. In 2015, Ochi went on to become the CAA Football’s Defensive Player of the Year and earned All-America status.
 
PRIOR TO STONY BROOK
Prior to his time at Stony Brook, Noel served as a defensive graduate assistant at Northwestern University.
 
A 2009 graduate of Butler University, Noel spent three years at his alma mater as the defensive line coach and assistant recruiting coordinator.
 
NOTABLE STUDENT-ATHLETES UNDER COACH NOEL
• DL Victor Ochi (2011-15) - Ochi broke Stony Brook’s career records for both sacks (32.5) and tackles for loss (49.0) during his career with the Seawolves. He was named the CAA Football’s Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and earned first team All-America honors from College Sports Madness and STATS. Ochi went on to sign with the Baltimore Ravens and played in two games for the New York Jets in 2016.
• DL Aaron Thompson (2013-16) – Thompson finished his career ninth in career sacks at Stony Brook with 13.5. He was also named All-CAA Football twice during his career as a Seawolf.
• DL John Haggart (2015-18) – Haggart, a third team All-CAA Football selection in 2018, finished his career fifth in career tackles-for-loss at Stony Brook with 38.0.
 
PERSONAL
Noel is from Westerville, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus. He is married to Shannon.
