Thomas Walsh

Head Coach Billy Cosh announced the hiring of Thomas Walsh as an Assistant Coach on Feb. 17, 2026.

Walsh joins Stony Brook after spending the 2025 season on the Stonehill coaching staff, where he helped the offense become one of the most efficient units in the conference and contributed to a program that tripled its win total from the previous season. He also played a key role in the development of Phil Steele All-Conference selection Zach Kim.

Prior to his time at Stonehill, Walsh joined the Wagner football staff in the spring of 2024, working primarily with the offensive line. A familiar name in the Northeast Conference (NEC), Walsh starred at Stonehill College as a player, where he was a five-year starter, two-time captain, and two-time all-conference selection on the offensive line. In his final season, he helped lead the Skyhawks to a 4–3 record in NEC play.

Off the field, Walsh gained additional experience as a camp instructor at the St. Joseph Regional Elite Performance Football Camp and served as an intern in Stonehill’s equipment department. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Stonehill and will pursue a master’s degree while on Grymes Hill.
