Brett Sammons

Sammons began as an assistant athletic trainer at Stony Brook University in August 2016. Sammons arrived at Stony Brook after a two-year stent as assistant athletic trainer at Delaware State University.

At DSU, Sammons was the primary Athletic Trainer for baseball and women's volleyball while also providing coverage for cross country, indoor track and field, equestrian, and bowling. Before her time at DSU she worked as an Outreach Athletic Trainer for ATI Physical Therapy at Delcastle Technical High School.

While working in Delaware, Sammons served on the executive board of the Delaware Athletic Trainers' Association. In her three year term as secretary she helped to promote and advance the profession of Athletic Training within the state.

Sammons graduated with her bachelor of science in Athletic Training from the University of Delaware in 2011.

She received her master of science in applied health physiology from Salisbury University in 2013, where she also served as a graduate assistant athletic trainer for two years providing coverage for football, women's basketball, tennis, women's volleyball, and softball. Sammons is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association and a Certified Athletic Trainer.
