Briana D'Amico began her role as lead academic advisor for football in October 2020. She is responsible for daily academic services, which include coordination of class schedules, advising meetings, arranging for tutors, assisting with study skills and monitoring study hall. 

She originally joined Stony Brook University the previous year, serving as an academic advisor for the women’s lacrosse, women's tennis, and cross country and track & field teams.

Prior to Stony Brook, D’Amico served as academic counselor of tutor services in the Office of Student-Athlete Development at West Virginia University for nearly two years. There, she helped develop a strong tutoring program while also assisting with administrative duties and academic advising. 

She began her full-time role in April 2017 with the Mountaineer Athletic Club as the assistant director of Mountaineer athletic hospitality. In that role, D’Amico oversaw the premium seating and hospitality operations on football game days.
 
She had previously served as a graduate assistant with The College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences at West Virginia University. She also worked as the front-desk attendant within the Office of Student-Athlete Development, overseeing study hall and tutoring and assisting with the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

A Smithtown native, D'Amico is a 2016 graduate of The College at Brockport, State University of New York, where she earned a bachelor of science in physical education. She earned a master of science in sport management from West Virginia University in 2017. 

During her time at Brockport, D'Amico served as an athletic administrative assistant while competing as a member of the varsity field hockey team. She served as president of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. D'Amico was named Most Outstanding Student-Athlete in 2016.
