Craig Burke

Craig Burke joins the Stony Brook University sports medicine staff in 2014 and serves as head athletic trainer for the football team.  Prior to Stony Brook, Burke spent three seasons as the head football athletic trainer at Robert Morris University in Chicago, where his primary responsibilities included overseeing all sports medicine needs for football student-athletes and designing and implementing athletic training policies and rehabilitation programs.

Prior to his time at Robert Morris, Burke spent a year as an athletic trainer intern at the United States Naval Academy, where he worked with the Midshipmen football, wrestling and swimming & diving programs. From 2008-2010, Burke worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Northern Illinois University, working specifically with the Huskies' football and softball teams. At NIU, he earned a master's degree in Sport Management. He also spent two seasons interning with the Columbus Destroyers of the AFL, where he assisted with training practice and game responsibilities.

Burke earned a bachelor's of science degree in Athletic Training and another bachelor's of science degree in Corporate Wellness and Fitness from Defiance College in 2008. He was certified by the Board of Certification in 2008 and is an American Heart Association CPR/AED/First Aid Instructor.
