In his first year at Stony Brook University, Robert Deese serves as an assistant athletic performance coach. In that role, Deese assists with all aspects of athletic performance for football and is directly responsible for the training and programming for men’s and women’s track and field. Additionally, he coordinates the use of GPS technology for athlete monitoring and load management.

Prior to his role with the Seawolves, Deese had worked alongside the New York Jets as a strength and conditioning intern for the 2018 season. While working with the Jets he assisted with all aspects of strength and conditioning as well as assist injured players during individual training sessions as they were returning to play.

Before joining the Jets, Deese served as a strength and conditioning intern for football at the University of Buffalo and Columbia University. At Columbia along with football, Deese assisted with men’s rowing, women’s lacrosse, and field hockey.

Robert Deese earned his Bachelors of Exercise Science from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
