Elizabeth Zanolli

Elizabeth Zanolli joined Stony Brook University as assistant athletic director for sports medicine in 2011.

She oversees Stony Brook's comprehensive sports medicine department, which includes nine full-time assistants charged with ensuring care for more than 500 student-athletes spanning 18 athletic programs.
 
Zanolli manages resources including orthopedics doctors, family physicians, a massage therapist, chiropractors and counselors/sport psychologists.

She also serves on director of athletics Shawn Heilbron's management team and is the staff advisor for the Positive Assurance With Support student-athlete mental-health group.

Zanolli travels with the women's basketball team.

Zanolli arrived at Stony Brook with 11 years of experience as an athletic trainer, including four years as the head athletic trainer at LIU Post.

At LIU Post from 2007 through 2011, she oversaw prevention, evaluation, rehabilitation and physician referral of athletic injuries and illnesses for all 15 athletic programs, with primary coverage of football and men's and women's basketball. She was responsible for the budgeting, managing and scheduling of all athletic training personnel, developing policies and procedures, and coordinating drug testing in accordance with university and NCAA regulations.

Zanolli also served as an assistant athletic trainer at St. John's from 2003 through '05 and at Duke from 2005 through '07. She was a graduate assistant certified athletic trainer at Tennessee from 2000 though '03.

While at St. John's, she assisted in the inventory and design of a new athletic training facility for the men's and women's basketball teams.

Zanolli is certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association.

She received her bachelor of arts degree in kinesiology from Chapman University in 1999, and earned her master of science in human performance and sport studies from the University of Tennessee in 2003.

Outside of Stony Brook, Zanolli serves on the advisory board for the College Athletic Trainers Society and on the Fueling Greatness Education Grant committee.
She also has been the team athletic trainer for the Scotland men's national lacrosse team since 2014 and covered the World and European Championships.

She resides in Sayville with her wife Dana and son Easton.
