Kate Bouchey

Kate Bouchey was promoted to Director of Athletic Performance for Olympic sports in November 2020.

She originally joined Stony Brook in the summer of 2017 as an intern and was promoted to a coaching assistant for the 2017-18 school year. She was then promoted to assistant director of athletic performance in July 2018 and took over the responsibility for women's soccer, women's volleyball, baseball and men's lacrosse. 
 
In May of 2017 she graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., with a master's of science degree in exercise science with a concentration in strength and conditioning. In her first year at Springfield, she worked as an assistant softball coach, while also interning in the weight room working with football, women’s volleyball, tennis, softball and men’s basketball. In the summer of 2016, she completed a 400-hour strength and conditioning internship at Florida State University. During the 2016-17 school year, she worked as a graduate assistant coach for the Springfield softball team assisting with recruiting, practice planning and assisting primarily with outfield. She was also the head strength coach for the softball team working with them throughout the off season, and worked with the Springfield cross country team during their in season training.
 
Bouchey completed her undergraduate degree at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. At Keene, she was a four-year member of the varsity softball team. She also worked and interned under the strength and conditioning coach at Keene. She was a student assistant during her senior year and had responsibility for the field hockey team during their off season training. 
 
Bouchey is a certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the NSCA and is CPR/AED certified through the American Red Cross.
