Carlos Delcid

Delcid enters his fifth full season with the Stony Brook men's soccer program in 2025.

Last season, Delcid assisted the Stony Brook squad as they earned a 3-10-3 overall record with a ranked victory over Seton Hall. Jonas Bickus earned All-CAA Second Team honors along with teammates, Bas Beckhoven, Finlay Oliver, and Kyle Smith being named to the College Sports Communicators' Academic All-District Team.

In 2023, Stony Brook finished 6-6-5 overall and 4-1-3 in league play to earn its first postseason berth as a member of the CAA. The Seawolves enjoyed a nine-match unbeaten streak during the season, the longest such streak during head coach Ryan Anatol's tenure, the longest in the program's Division I history and the program's best streak since the 1970 season. Stony Brook held strong at No. 10 in the United Soccer Coaches' Atlantic Regional Rankings for a majority of the regular season.

Under Anatol and Delcid's guidance, five Seawolves garnered All-CAA distinction in 2023. Bickus and Beckhoven were tabbed All-CAA Second Team, while Olsen Aluc and Edmond Kaiser were voted to the All-CAA Third Team. Alex Fleury earned recognition on the CAA All-Rookie Team. Bickus and Beckhoven later garnered United Soccer Coaches All-Atlantic Region honors as well.

The Seawolves entered the CAA Conference in 2022, winning three of its first four matches, including a 2-1 victory over Long Island rival and new conference foe, Hofstra. Stony Brook went on to win two more conference contests (College of Charleston and Drexel), finishing 3-6 in league play in its inaugural season. Ultimately, the Seawolves finished 5-11 overall, adding non-conference victories against Saint Peter’s and Columbia. Bickus garnered All-CAA Third Team honors and freshman Jon Jelercic earned All-Rookie team distinction to give the squad their first-ever CAA awards.

In Delcid's first season with the Seawolves in 2021, the team started off with five wins in the first seven contests, and were ranked as high as No. 6 in the United Soccer Coaches East Region and received votes in the CSN National Top 30 poll. The team finished the season at 8-6-1 overall, advancing to the America East Conference Championship as the No. 4 seed before falling in penalty kicks in the quarterfinal game. Delcid assisted in the development of Bickus who was named America East Freshman on the Year.

Delcid enjoyed a highlight-filled career at New York Tech from July 2000 thru November 2020. In his 19 years as the Bears' head man, Delcid amassed more than 200 career wins, 90 conference victories and a .630 winning percentage.
