Prior to arriving at Stony Brook, Scheck spent two seasons as an assistant coach for the University of Pennsylvania men's soccer program, focusing on the goalkeeping unit.
In 2019, he helped Penn to a 7-5-4 record, the first winning season for the program since 2011. With a second-place finish in the Ivy League standings with 12 points, the Quakers sat only behind Ivy champion Yale. In Scheck's second season with the Quakers, he coached the Ivy Defensive Player of the Year Alex Touche and four other All-Ivy honorees.
In the same season, goalkeeper Dane Jacomen was named a Philadelphia Soccer Six All-Star and landed on the Philadelphia Soccer Six All-Rookie Team. Dane allowed only 12 goals, posted six shutouts and finished with a 0.80 goals against average and a .789 save percentage, which ranked second among Ivy League keepers in GAA.
In his first season at Penn, Scheck helped oversee two All-Ivy honorees while guiding the Quakers to their first .500 season since 2013. Additionally, Scott Forbes tallied impressive numbers in between the pipes under Scheck's watch, ranking first in the Ivy League and 16th nationally with a save percentage of .821.
Before Penn, Scheck spent two years with the University of Connecticut, including in 2017 as director of soccer quality control. He assisted with ticket sales, match promotions and fan engagement. Scheck's efforts helped aid the Huskies to an average attendance of 3,502 that season, which ranked first nationally in average attendance.
He served as a goalkeeper for the Temple Owls from 2011 through '14. A three-year starter, Scheck appeared in 43 matches during his Owl career, tallying 16 clean sheets. As a senior in 2014, he started 16 matches en route to a second-team All-American Athletic Conference selection. Scheck enjoyed a breakout junior campaign in 2013, matching the program record with nine shutouts. The Sayville native was named the league's Keeper of the Week on two occasions and tallied an .859 save percentage in 18 starts.
