Kelly Cosgrove

Kelly Cosgrove joined the Stony Brook staff in August 2018. She works directly with the men’s soccer, softball, and swimming and diving teams.
 
Prior to Stony Brook, Cosgrove worked as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Dartmouth College in New Hampshire, overseeing six varsity sports teams including men’s soccer, baseball, softball, women’s rugby, men’s heavyweight rowing and men’s lightweight rowing. She was also in charge of the strength and conditioning internship program. During her time at Dartmouth, the men’s soccer team claimed two Ivy League titles (2016 and 2017) and made two appearances in the NCAA tournament. The women’s rugby team also won a pair of Ivy Championships and climbed to #1 in the rankings in 2017.
 
Before working at Dartmouth, Cosgrove was an Athletic Performance Coach at Professional Athletic Performance Center in Garden City, NY. During this time, she developed programs for youth, high school and collegiate athletes.
 
Cosgrove got her start in strength and conditioning as an intern for the University of Connecticut in 2015 where she assisted with coaching Olympic sports teams that included baseball, softball, men’s and women’s hockey, track and field, men’s and women’s soccer, women’s lacrosse and more.
 
Cosgrove graduated from Springfield College in 2015 with a degree in Applied Exercise Science. She is currently pursuing her Master’s degree from Stony Brook in Nutrition. Cosgrove is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) though the NSCA, and is certified in CPR/AED through the American Red Cross.
