2019-20: America East Sixth Player of the Year ... America East Commissioner's Honor Roll ... Played in all 31 games … Averaged 6.4 points and 1.3 rebounds per game … Tallied 15 assists and 13 steals … Recorded 10 double-digit scoring games … Led team with .780 free throw percentage ... Hit off-balance shot with 6.7 seconds remaining and shot clock expiring for two-possession lead in career-high 21-point performance vs. Western Michigan on Dec. 22.
Before Stony Brook: Johnson arrives to the East Coast following a decorated career at Hinds Community College in Mississippi. She was named a National Junior College Athletic Association First Team All-American this last season, averaging 21.6 points per game while shooting 44.1 percent from the field and 34.2 percent from three. Her 21.6 points ranked ninth nationally in the NJCAA while her 83.9 percent free throw percentage was 13th. As a freshman, the Camden, Mississippi, native was honored as a Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) All-American and First Team All-Region 23 as she finished second in the NJCAA with 22.6 points per game. Prior to her time at Hinds, she competed for Velma Jackson High School where she scored 1,000 points, was named the Female Athlete of the Year, All-Region, All-District and team MVP.
