Cori Chambers was named an assistant coach at Stony Brook on June 1, 2011. Prior to joining the Seawolves, Chambers played collegiately at the University of Georgia and professionally for the WNBA[apos]s Connecticut Sun. Chambers also served as the Director of Basketball Operations at Marist College from 2009-11.
In her two years at Marist, the Red Foxes went 57-11 and advanced to the NCAA tournament in both seasons. In 2010-11, Marist posted a 31-3 record and was ranked No. 21 in the final ESPN/USA Today coaches poll.
Chambers played at Georgia from 2003-07 and is the Lady Bulldogs[apos] all-time career leader in three-pointers made with 282, including a program-record 85 triples during her senior year of 2006-07. Chambers also played in a program-best 106 games in her career, pouring in 1,490 points and averaging 11.0 points per game. The Lady Bulldogs reached the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament in each of Chambers[apos] four seasons, advancing as far as the Elite 8 in 2004.
A Southeastern Conference (SEC) All-Freshman team selection in 2004, Chambers was a second-team All-SEC pick as a junior and senior.
Following her illustrious career at Georgia, Chambers was drafted in the second round of the 2007 WNBA draft by the Sun. She played one season with Connecticut before taking her talents overseas for the Shelen ETK Basket Club in Russia and the S-dent Sierre Basket Club in Switzerland.
A 2007 graduate of Georgia, Chambers earned a bachelor[apos]s degree in business administration and management from the Terry School of Business. Currently, she is pursuing her master[apos]s degree in Public Administration.
