Before Stony Brook: Miller has played the past four years of varsity basketball under head coach Chris Puder at Piscataway High School, serving as team captain during her junior and senior seasons. Miller has been named Piscataway's Most Improved Player and Second-Team All Conference in 2015-16 as a sophomore, and was awarded the program's Most Valuable Player award and tabbed First-Team All Conference in 2016-17 as a junior. As a junior in 2016-17, Miller averaged a career-high 33.0 points, 13.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.

The guard/forward comes from a family of outstanding athletes. Miller is the daughter of Lance Miller, who played four years of Division I basketball at Villanova University. Miller's older sister – Adreana – currently plays collegiate basketball at La Salle University.
