Omowunmi Jolaoso

Omowunmi Jolaoso joined the Stony Brook University Sports Medicine staff in the summer of 2025 as the Assistant Athletic Trainer for the women’s basketball team.

Prior to Stony Brook, Jolaoso spent three years at Xavier University, working primarily
 with the women’s lacrosse and swimming teams. During her time at Xavier, she also worked with the women’s volleyball team during the 2022 season and the women’s soccer program in the fall of 2024.

Before Xavier, she served as Grambling State University’s primary athletic trainer for the women’s soccer, men’s basketball, softball and track & field programs, while assisting with football.

Jolaoso began her career in 2018 as an athletic training intern at Frostburg State University, where she worked with field hockey, men’s basketball, women’s lacrosse, track & field and rugby. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and Exercise Science from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2016. She became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach (CSCS) in 2017 and graduated from Georgia State University with a master’s degree in Exercise Science: Biomechanics in 2018. While at GSU she served as a graduate assistant personal trainer for the student recreation center.
