Heather Driscoll recently completed her first season with the Seawolves after being named an assistant coach at Stony Brook in August 10. Driscoll came to SBU after spending 2009 in the same position at UC-Irvine. She took the job at UC-Irvine after spending close to three years with Tony DiCicco[apos]s SoccerPlus Camps, FSASoccerPlus FC, SoccerPlus Education Center and the SoccerPlus CT Reds in Connecticut. Prior to that, she was the head coach at New England prep school power house, Loomis Chaffee. Under Hathorn[apos]s guidance the Pelican[apos]s had a 32-4-1 record during the 2007 and 2008 seasons. The Pelican[apos]s played in the New England Championship both seasons. Hathorn was also one of the coaches with the U17 Connecticut ODP team. During her time in Connecticut she spent two seasons playing as a forward for the SoccerPlus CT Reds in the WPSL. In 2007 the Reds won the U23 National Championship. A native of Maine, Hathorn graduated from the University of Maine in 2006 with a major in kinesiology and physical education. She was a four-year starter for the Black Bears and captain during her senior season. She led her team to three America East Conference Championship games and continues to hold records for career goals (35) and career points (84). She earned her NSCAA National Diploma in January 2008 and National Goalkeeping Diploma in January 2009.
