Sade Ayinde joined head coach Brendan Faherty's staff in January of 2016.
In her first season at Stony Brook, Ayinde helped guide the Seawolves to a third-place finish in the America East, as they earned a spot in the America East playoffs for the first time since the 2013 season. Stony Brook notched a Division-I era six-game winning streak in league play and eight shutouts on the season. The 2016 America East Coaching Staff of the Year saw six student-athletes earn all-conference honors, as two were named to the first team.
Ayinde then helped lead Stony Brook to a 11-11 (4-4 AE) mark in 2017, topping Vermont, 2-1, in the 2017 America East Women’s Soccer Championship at LaValle Stadium to earn the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2012. Stony Brook won four games in the non-conference portion of its 2017 schedule – the most victories in non-conference action for the program since the 2013 season. Ayinde played at the University of Maryland, where she led the Terrapins to three NCAA Tournament appearances, scoring 16 goals and adding 19 assists. She was named to the Soccer Buzz All-Mid Atlantic Freshman Team in 2008 and was voted the NSCAA National Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week in 2010 after scoring both of Maryland’s goals in a 2-1 win over No. 2 North Carolina.
Following her collegiate years, Ayinde played for the Long Island Rough Riders and New York Magic of the W-League and spent a season in Sweden.
Ayinde’s coaching experience includes a head coaching role with the Girls U10 and U15 first teams at East Meadow Soccer Club. She also serves as a Region I ODP coach in Rhode Island and is the assistant coach of the ENYYSA ODP team in New York State.
She owns a USSF Class “C” coaching license and an NSCAA National Diploma. Ayinde graduated from the University of Maryland in 2012, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts, Criminology and Criminal Justice.
