Stony Brook Seawolves
2021 Stony Brook Volleyball Headshots - Marc Neef

Marc Neef

Marc Neef joined the Stony Brook staff in 2017 as an assistant coach.

Neef has helped transform the Seawolves into a winning program the past three seasons, capturing back-to-back America East championships in 2017 and 18.

In 2019, Stony Brook made its third-straight appearance in the America East tournament, led by two-time America East Setter of the Year LeAnne Sakowicz and Defensive Specialist of the Year Kiani Kerstetter.

In his second season in 2018, Neef assisted the Seawolves to their second NCAA tournament appearance after capturing their second-straight America East Tournament Championship. Neef and the rest of Stony Brook’s staff were named the America East Staff of the Year, guiding the Seawolves to an undefeated conference mark (12-0) en route their first America East regular season title since 2007.

In 2017, Stony Brook defied the odds as the No. 4 seed in the America East Championship, securing its first conference title and NCAA tournament bid in program history following sweeps against the top two teams in the conference.

Neef has helped develop eight total student-athletes who have earned America East All-Conference honors.

Neef arrived on Long Island after two seasons at UCF. In 2016, the Knights won 23 matches, as Neef led the scouting efforts for the team. Prior to that, Neef spent seven years as an assistant at Cornell College, as the Rams went 158-70 in his time on the bench.

Neef served as a student assistant coach at Cornell College before joining the staff full-time for the 2012 season. The Rams collected a conference championship and earned a berth to the NCAA Division III tournament in each of Neef's final four years at Cornell College. Neef is a 2012 alumnus of Cornell College and received his MBA from UCF in 2016.
