Gregg Foster's solo homerun in the 8th inning broke a 5-5 tie and the Seawolves went on to a 7-5 victory over Army at Johnson Field Tuesday. The victory snapped back-to-back losses by Stony Brook and improved the team to 23-7 on the season.
The Seawolves jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run homerun by Craig Ansman - his 10th of the season. The lead was extended to 5-2 by the Pack with a pair of runs in the third. However, the Cadets struck back in the bottom of the fourth to tie the score at 5-5.
The game remained scoreless until the 8th when Foster hit a 370-foot blast to left field. The Pack added a run in the ninth inning as Lee Lipschutz tripled home Chris Manna.
Kevin Willi (3-1) got the win in relief, striking out six in three innings of work and allowed just one hit.
