Seawolves Snap Skid Against Lehigh, 65-49

Stony Brook, NY -- - Stony Brook (8-6) had three players score in double figures, led by Sherry Jordan's 20, and the Seawolves ended a four-game losing streak with a 65-49 victory over Lehigh (7-6) at the USB Sports Complex Saturday. The Seawolves extended their home winning streak to 10 games dating back to last season.

Jordan's jumper with 10:18 to go gave the Seawolves the lead for good at 41-40. The Seawolves used an 18-6 lead over the next 6:21 to take a 59-46 lead and built the advantage to as many as 16. Jordan scored six of her 20 during the run as the Seawolves sealed the game.

Stony Brook built a 33-26 lead 2:18 into the second half on Magie Triggs' fast break jumper. But Lehigh used a 10-1 run to take a 36-34 lead with 14:33 to go as Anne Tierney and Gina Zang each scored four points. Tierney ended with a team-high 16 points and Zang had 13. Tierney also registered 15 rebounds - a game-high.

Stony Brook tied the school record for fewest turnovers in a game with 11 and forced the Mountain Hawks into 23.

Kelli Cofield and Jill George each had 10 points for the Seawolves. Sophomore point guard Jessica Burch had five assists and five steals.

The Seawolves improved to 7-1 against Patriot League teams and tied the series with Lehigh at 1-1.
