Baseball Rebounds To Rout Hartford, 11-4

Homestead, Fla. - George Kearnes drove in a career-high five runs and Nick Poltrack yielded only one run in six innings of work to lead Stony Brook to an 11-4 win over Hartford Monday afternoon in Homestead, Fla.

Stony Brook led 2-1 in the fifth when Kearnes came to the plate with the bases loaded. He promptly laced a triple, scoring all three runs to give SB a commanding 5-1 lead. The Seawolves added two more in the seventh and cruised to the 11-4 win.

Alex Trezza hit a homer in the victory, his fifth of the season.

Poltrack went six innings, striking out four and giving up only one run to earn the victory. The win improves Stony Brook's record to 7-5 on the year.

Kearnes has been hot on Stony Brook's Florida swing, driving in eight runs in the first four games. Jim McCurdy has also sizzled at the plate, hitting a torrid .438 (7-16).
