Camels Nip Seawolves In Second Game Of Doubleheader, 2-1

Buies Creek, NC -- - Freshman Jonathan Lewis struck out eight in his collegiate debut, but Campbell got a Derek Barrows RBI single in the sixth to get the win, 2-1, and earned a split with Stony Brook Friday afternoon.

Josh Cotten gave the Camels a 1-0 lead with an RBI single that scored Deanda in the first inning. CU added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth when Derek Barrows drove home pinch-runner John Sanders with an RBI single.

Stony Brook cut the Camel lead to one in the top of the seventh when Andrew Zielinski scored on a hit by Mark Taormina.

Campbell's Chris English (2-0) threw 4 1/3 inning of scoreless baseball surrendering two hits while striking out five. Patrick Murray threw a 1/3 of an inning in relief to record his first save of the season.
