Stony Brook, NY -- -
You couldn't ask for a better start from anyone as a pitcher in the game of baseball. Nevermind, a freshman. Jonathan Lewis (Queens, NY/Francis Lewis) grabbed his second America East honor of the season in two weeks as he was chosen the Rookie of the Week.
Lewis tossed 11 strong innings in the Seawolves 7-6, 13-inning win over Vermont. He allowed two earned runs on nine hits while striking out 10 and walking just three batters as the Seawolves earned their first-ever America East victory.
Lewis has posted a 2.04 ERA this season, is 4-1 and has a strikeout-to-walk ratio better than 3:1 (44:14). Lewis leads the America East in wins, winning percentage, strikeouts and ERA.
The America East honored Lewis as its Pitcher of the Week in its first round of awards on April 3.
